Silent Night

ABOUT

Happy National Hot Toddy Day! As temperatures continue to drop, what better way to beat the cold than with a warm, spiked drink.

This is by far my favorite hot toddy recipe. I originally included this recipe in my ‘Tis the Season cocktail kits and it was a major hit!

The base spirit for this drink is Hennessy VSOP. Full of mouthwatering notes such as vanilla, candied fruits, honey, and baking spices, this Cognac is the perfect addition to any hot toddy. Best of all, it pairs perfectly with the fruity flavor of my spiced pear syrup.

For this hot toddy, I decided to go with a locally crafted chai tea made with a blend of rooibos chai spice with ginger, cinnamon, green cardamom and warm vanilla. The warm flavors of the tea and the fruity flavors of the Hennessy and spiced pear syrup come together perfectly.

If you’re looking for a warm drink to sip on while you’re watching your favorite movie, or just as a nightcap, then my Silent Night is definitely a winner.

This cocktail is best served in a hot toddy or Irish coffee mug. A lemon wheel and cinnamon stick garnishes are optional.
